Catherine & Sadashiv's Love Story

My fiance, Sadashiv, and I met through work. He started out as someone I admired and that became a friendship which ultimately turned into love. When we became engaged, I knew I wanted my parents to be part of the wedding planning process! Rather than try to plan a destination wedding we decided to stay local so that they could be involved in all of the arrangements. Rockford being my hometown, I couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else.

However, after viewing 6 different venues, Sadashiv and I were frustrated and unimpressed.

We decided to walk into Franchesco's unannounced just to see what it was like. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Benny and Michelle. We had no appointment made, but Benny had the kitchen whip up a few vegetarian entrees for us to try. From the first bite of the Sicilian eggplant, we knew we wanted our wedding reception to be at Franchescos.

As the planning went on, the number of guests exceeded what we had originally expected. Even though it was only 2 weeks prior to our wedding, the Salamone’s were so accommodating, and every effort was made to seat everyone comfortably.

On the day of the wedding, everything went perfectly! I received numerous compliments by all the guests that our wedding was the most warm and welcoming reception they had ever been to. Appetizers were brought to the wedding party as soon as we arrived, which was an hour before we were scheduled to, and Michelle personally assembled a dessert tray for the head table to make sure that we had everything we needed. The hospitality we received allowed us to enjoy our day without worrying about the details.

We knew from our first visit to Franchesco's that it was where we wanted to get married. The warmth of the Salamone family is unmatched in Rockford, and I would venture to say that you wouldn't even find this kind of hospitality anywhere else in Chicago.

If you are thinking about getting married in Rockford, spare yourself the hassle of searching and see Franchesco's! You will not be disappointed.
